Abstract
【解決手段】複数のアドレス電極、複数の走査電極、及び維持電極を含むプラズマパネルと、外部の映像信号を受信して、走査電極駆動信号、維持電極駆動信号、及びアドレス電極駆動信号を生成する制御部と、前記アドレス電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を前記アドレス電極に印加するアドレスデータ駆動部と、前記維持電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を前記維持電極に印加する維持電極駆動部と、前記走査電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を走査電極に電圧を印加する走査電極駆動部と、を含み、前記走査電極駆動部は、アドレス期間に第1電圧レベルから第2電圧レベルに下降するスキャンパルスを印加し、リセット期間と前記アドレス期間との間に第1電圧レベルより高い第3電圧レベルのパルスを挿入し、前記サブフィールドデータのパターンによって前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅を可変することを特徴とする。

Claims (9)
- 複数のアドレス電極、複数の走査電極、及び維持電極を含むプラズマパネルと、
外部の映像信号を受信して、走査電極駆動信号、維持電極駆動信号、及びアドレス電極駆動信号を生成する制御部と、
前記アドレス電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を前記アドレス電極に印加するアドレスデータ駆動部と、
前記維持電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を前記維持電極に印加する維持電極駆動部と、
前記走査電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を走査電極に電圧を印加する走査電極駆動部と、を含み、
前記走査電極駆動部は、アドレス期間に第1電圧レベルから第2電圧レベルに下降するスキャンパルスを印加し、
リセット期間と前記アドレス期間との間に第1電圧レベルより高い第3電圧レベルのパルスを挿入し、サブフィールドデータのパターンに応じて前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅を可変することを特徴とするプラズマ表示パネル。 - 前記走査電極駆動部は、アドレスパルスのスイッチング回数が多くなるほど前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅を増加させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマ表示パネル。
- 前記制御部は、
外部の映像信号を受信して、サブフィールドデータを生成するサブフィールドデータ生成部と、
前記サブフィールドデータの変化量を検出する検出器と、
前記サブフィールドデータの変化量によって前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅を決定して出力する計算機と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載のプラズマ表示パネル。 - 前記計算機は、サブフィールドデータの変化量に対応する前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅の値をマッピングテーブルで内部のメモリに保存することを特徴とする請求項3に記載のプラズマ表示パネル。
- 複数のアドレス電極、複数の走査電極、及び維持電極を含むプラズマパネルと、
外部の映像信号を受信して、走査電極駆動信号、維持電極駆動信号、及びアドレス電極駆動信号を生成する制御部と、
前記アドレス電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を前記アドレス電極に印加するアドレスデータ駆動部と、
前記維持電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を前記維持電極に印加する維持電極駆動部と、
前記走査電極駆動信号に対応する電圧を走査電極に電圧を印加する走査電極駆動部と、
を含み、
前記走査電極駆動部は、アドレス期間に第1電圧レベルから第2電圧レベルに下降するスキャンパルスを印加し、
リセット期間と前記アドレス期間との間に第1電圧レベルより高い第3電圧レベルのパルスを挿入し、サブフィールドデータのパターンによって前記第3電圧レベルを可変することを特徴とするプラズマ表示パネル。 - 第1基板上に各々並んで形成される複数の第1電極及び第2電極、そして前記第1及び第2電極と交差して第2基板上に形成される複数の第3電極を含むプラズマ表示パネルで、一つのフレームを複数のサブフィールドに分けて駆動するプラズマパネルの駆動方法であって、
リセット期間にリセット波形を印加する第1段階と、
第1電圧レベルから第2電圧レベルに下降するスキャンパルスを印加する段階と、を含み、
前記リセット期間とアドレス期間との間に前記第1電極に前記第1電圧レベルより大きい第3電圧レベルのパルスを印加し、
前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅はアドレスデータのパターンによって決定されることを特徴とするプラズマ表示パネルの駆動方法。 - 前記アドレスデータのアドレスパルスのスイッチング回数が多くなるほど前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅を増加させることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のプラズマ表示パネルの駆動方法。
- 前記アドレスデータのアドレスパルスのスイッチング回数が少なくなるほど、前記第3電圧レベルのパルスの幅を減少させ、サステイン期間を増加させることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のプラズマ表示パネルの駆動方法。
- 第1基板上に各々並んで形成される複数の第1電極及び第2電極、そして前記第1及び第2電極と交差して第2基板上に形成される複数の第3電極を含むプラズマ表示パネルで、一つのフレームを複数のサブフィールドに分けて駆動するプラズマパネルの駆動方法であって、
リセット期間にリセット波形を印加する第1段階と、
第1電圧レベルから第2電圧レベルに下降するスキャンパルスを印加する段階と、を含み、
前記リセット期間とアドレス期間との間に、前記第1電極に前記第1電圧レベルより大きい第3電圧レベルのパルスを印加し、
前記第3電圧レベルは、アドレスデータのパターンによって決定されることを特徴とするプラズマ表示パネルの駆動方法。
