Abstract
【解決手段】 光源としてのLEDアレイを構成する個々のLED素子31の光を集光するフライアイレンズは、集光した光を光学系を通じて、ライトバルブとしてのDMD(デジタルマイクロミラー素子)の矩形の受光面に照射すべく、矩形をなす単位レンズ33の群を有している。受光面の一辺に対して略45°の方位角をもって受光面に光を入射させる必要から、単位レンズ33の一辺は、単位レンズ33を配置し得る領域として光学系により定まる正方形の有効領域30の一辺に対して45°に傾斜している。単位レンズ33のアスペクト比が2以下である場合には、単位レンズ33は、その短辺の長さをVとすると、有効領域30の直交する二辺に沿って√2×VのピッチPをもって配列する。

Claims (16)
- 単位光源の群が配列してなる光源と、
前記単位光源の群に対向して配列した集光レンズの群と前記集光レンズの群に対向して配列した矩形の単位レンズの群とを有し前記単位レンズの群の各々は対向する前記単位光源が発生し対向する前記集光レンズを透過した光を集光するレンズアレイと、
前記単位レンズの群の各々を通過した前記光源の光を、照射面へ重なり合って斜め入射するように集光する照射光学系とを備え、
前記単位レンズの群は、当該単位レンズの群を配置し得る領域として前記照射光学系により定まる矩形の有効領域内に間隙をもって配列しており、前記単位レンズの群の各々の一辺は前記有効領域の一辺に対して45°に傾斜している照明装置。 - 前記単位レンズの群の各々のアスペクト比が2未満であって、前記単位レンズの群は、当該単位レンズの群の各々の短辺の長さをVとして前記有効領域の直交する二辺に沿って√2×Vのピッチをもって配列している請求項1記載の照明装置。
- 前記単位レンズの群の各々のアスペクト比が2を超えており、前記単位レンズの群は、当該単位レンズの群の各々の長辺の長さをHとして前記有効領域の直交する二辺に沿って(1/√2)×Hのピッチをもって配列している請求項1記載の照明装置。
- 単位光源の群が配列してなる光源と、
前記単位光源の群に対向して配列した集光レンズの群と前記集光レンズの群に対向して配列した矩形の単位レンズの群とを有し前記単位レンズの群の各々は対向する前記単位光源が発生し対向する前記集光レンズを透過した光を集光するレンズアレイと、
前記単位レンズの群の各々を通過した前記光源の光を、照射面へ重なり合って斜め入射するように集光する照射光学系とを備え、
前記単位レンズの群は、当該単位レンズの群を配置し得る領域として前記照射光学系により定まる矩形の有効領域内に配列しており、前記単位レンズの群の各々の一辺は前記有効領域の一辺に対して45°に傾斜しており、
前記単位レンズの群の各々のアスペクト比が2であって、前記単位レンズの群は、当該単位レンズの群の各々の短辺の長さをVとして前記有効領域の直交する二辺に沿って√2×Vのピッチをもって配列している照明装置。 - 前記単位光源の群が、前記単位レンズの群と同一ピッチで配列している請求項1乃至4の何れかに記載の照明装置。
- 前記集光レンズの群が前記単位レンズの群と同一ピッチで配列している請求項1乃至5の何れかに記載の照明装置。
- 前記単位レンズの群が、一体化した成型品である請求項1乃至6の何れかに記載の照明装置。
- 前記各集光レンズは、互いに対向する複数のレンズの組を有しており、前記集光レンズの群のうち、前記複数のレンズの組のうちの少なくとも1つが配列してなる群が、一体化した成型品である請求項1乃至7の何れかに記載の照明装置。
- 前記光源が、波長の異なる3色の光を個別に発生する第1乃至第3光源を有しており、
前記照射光学系は、
前記第1乃至第3光源から前記照射面へ至る光路に介挿されることにより前記3色の光を合成する色合成手段を備える請求項1乃至8の何れかに記載の照明装置。 - 前記3色が、赤色、緑色及び青色である請求項9記載の照明装置。
- 前記第1乃至第3光源を時分割により順次に点灯させる光源制御部を更に備える請求項9又は10記載の照明装置。
- 前記単位光源が発光ダイオードである請求項1乃至11の何れかに記載の照明装置。
- 前記単位光源がレーザ光源である請求項1乃至11の何れかに記載の照明装置。
- 請求項1乃至13の何れかに記載の照明装置と、
前記照明装置の前記照射面に配置されたライトバルブと、
前記ライトバルブからの出射光を投写する投写光学系とを備える投写型映像表示装置。 - 前記ライトバルブが微小偏光ミラー光学素子である請求項14記載の投写型映像表示装置。
- 前記ライトバルブがDMDである請求項15記載の投写型映像表示装置。
