Abstract
【解決手段】 第1段光増幅部(10)および第2段光増幅部(20)と、第1および第2段光増幅部(10,20)に対して共通にAGC制御を行う共通AGC回路(18)と、を有する波長多重光増幅器(3)において、さらに、所定の分配比率で第1および第2段光増幅部(10,20)に対してそれぞれ励起光を印加する励起光分配手段(30)を設ける。

〔実施例4−1〕
本実施例4−1および後述の実施例4−2は、上記実施例1,2および3のいずれにも適用できる変形例であって、信号光に対して直列に配置される「さらなる光増幅部」を加えて少なくとも3段の光増幅部を備え、これら光増幅部のうちの2つを前述した第1段光増幅部および第2段光増幅部とすることを特徴とするものである。
〔実施例4−2〕
図10に示す実施例4−2は上記実施例4−1(図9)の変形態様である。すなわち、図9の中段光増幅部19(10)を、前方励起型とすると共に、図9の可変光減衰器17′を除去したものに相当する。
前記第1および第2段光増幅部の入力端および出力端における各信号光によってAGC制御を行う共通AGC回路と、
前記共通AGC回路からの制御信号を受けると共に、所定の分配比率で前記第1段光増幅部および第2段光増幅部に対してそれぞれ励起光を印加する励起光分配手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする波長多重光増幅器。
(付記2)前記励起光分配手段は、単一の励起光源と、該単一の励起光源からの励起光を前記所定の分配比率で分岐して前記第1段光増幅部および第2段光増幅部に印加する光カプラと、からなる付記1に記載の波長多重光増幅器。

Claims (1)
- 信号光に対して直列に配置される第1段光増幅部および第2段光増幅部と、
前記第1および第2段光増幅部の入力端および出力端における各信号光によってAGC制御を行う共通AGC回路と、
前記共通AGC回路からの制御信号を受けると共に、所定の分配比率で前記第1段光増幅部および前記第2段光増幅部に対してそれぞれ励起光を印加する励起光分配手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする波長多重光増幅器。
