Abstract
【課題】 画素を複数のドメインに分割することによって広視野角を実現する。
【解決手段】 第1基板110の上に形成されたゲート線121、第1基板の上に形成されてゲート線と絶縁されて交差するデータ線171、ゲート線とデータ線が交差して定義する画素毎に形成され第1切開部191〜195によって複数の小領域に分割されている画素電極190、ゲート線、データ線及び画素電極と連結されている薄膜トランジスタ173,175、第1基板と対向する絶縁第2基板210、第2基板上に形成され第1切開部と共に画素を複数のドメインに分割する第2切開部271〜275を有する共通電極270を含む。第2切開部はデータ線と少なくとも一部が重畳し、隣接する二つの画素の第2切開部のうちデータ線と重畳する部分はデータ線に沿って交互に配置される。データ線の負荷が減少し、データ線にかかる液晶容量の変化量が縮小され、側面クロストークによる光漏れ減少し、開口率が増大する。

Claims (7)
- 絶縁第1基板と、
前記第1基板の上に形成されているゲート線と、
前記第1基板の上に形成され前記ゲート線と絶縁されて交差しているデータ線と、
前記ゲート線と前記データ線とが交差して定義する画素毎に形成されて第1切開部によって複数の小領域に分割されている画素電極と、
前記ゲート線、前記データ線及び前記画素電極と連結されている薄膜トランジスタと、
前記第1基板と対向する絶縁第2基板と、
前記第2基板上に形成され前記第1切開部と協働して画素を複数のドメインに分割する第2切開部を有する共通電極とを含み、
前記第2切開部は前記データ線と少なくとも一部が重畳し、
隣接する二つの画素の第2切開部のうち前記データ線と重畳する部分は前記データ線に沿って交互に配置されている液晶表示装置。 - 前記第2切開部を前記画素電極上面に投影すれば前記第1切開部と前記第2切開部が互いに交互に位置するように、前記第1切開部と前記第2切開部とが配置されている請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1切開部と前記第2切開部とによって分割されるドメインの最も長い2辺が互いに対向して並んでおり、前記辺は前記ゲート線に対して45度または135度をなす請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2切開部を一つの画素面を上下にして二分する時に上半面に位置する上半面切開部と下半面に位置する下半面切開部に区分すれば、前記上半面切開部と前記下半面切開部は各々奇数個である請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 絶縁第1基板と、
前記第1基板上に形成されて横方向に延びているゲート線及び前記ゲート線に連結されているゲート電極を含むゲート配線と、
前記ゲート配線の上に形成されているゲート絶縁膜と、
前記ゲート電極上部の前記ゲート絶縁膜の上に形成されているチャンネル部半導体層と、
前記チャンネル部半導体層の上に形成され前記ゲート電極を中心に両側に分離されている抵抗性接触層と、
前記抵抗性接触層上に形成されているソース電極及びドレーン電極と、前記ソース電極に連結されているデータ線とを含むデータ配線と、
前記データ配線の上に形成され前記ドレーン電極を露出させる接触孔を有する保護膜と、
前記保護膜上に形成され前記接触孔を通じて前記ドレーン電極と連結されて複数の第1切開部を有する画素電極と、
前記第1基板と対向する絶縁第2基板と、
前記第2基板の上に形成されている色フィルターと、
前記色フィルターを覆っていて前記第1切開部と共に前記画素電極を複数のドメイン面に分割する第2切開部を有する共通電極とを含み、
前記データ線はその両側に位置する画素の前記第2切開部と同時に重畳しており、前記第2切開部を一つの画素面を上下に二分するときに上半面に位置する上半面切開部と下半面に位置する下半面切開部に区分すれば前記上半面切開部と前記下半面切開部は各々奇数個である液晶表示装置。 - 前記データ線を中心に両側に位置する二つの画素の前記第2切開部を各々右切開部と左切開部に区分する時に前記右切開部と前記左切開部は前記データ線に沿って移動しながら交互に配置されている請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板の上に前記ゲート配線と同一層で形成されている維持電極配線をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
