Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body panel structure for an automobile, capable of preventing a sealing agent charged into an overlapped portion between an outer panel and an inner panel from being squeezed out to the outside without reducing the charging of the sealing agent.
SOLUTION: Generally, when the overlapped portion between the ends of the outer panel 2 and the inner panel 3 of a door body 1 is pressurized because of wind-tightening and jointing, the sealing agent 4 charged into the overlapped portion tends to squeeze out to the outside from a notched portion 2B for preventing wrinkles at a folded edge portion 2A of the outer panel 2. On the other hand, this vehicle body panel structure is constructed so that part of the sealing agent 4 being overflowed between the overlapped surfaces by the pressurizing may stay on a trap portion 5, thus preventing the sealing agent 4 from being squeezed out to the outside.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a vehicle body panel structure including an outer panel and an inner panel, such as an automobile door, fender, hood, and trunk lid.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 59-26013, an outer door and an inner panel are arranged at a predetermined interval, and a peripheral portion of the outer panel is folded so as to include the peripheral portion of the inner panel. Return, so-called hemming processing, so as to be connected by winding.
[0003]
A notch having a required width is provided at the corner on the folded side of the outer panel so that the hemming of the outer panel does not cause a wrinkle at the folded portion of the outer panel at the corner on the lower side of the door.
[0004]
In addition, since the rust preventive by electrodeposition coating does not reach the above-mentioned tightened joint portion, a sealing material is filled between the overlapping surfaces of the peripheral portions of the outer panel and the inner panel at the tightened joint portion. A sealing material is applied in advance to one or the other of the superposed surfaces and then wound and joined by hemming to fill the sealing material between the superposed surfaces to take measures against rust.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, a notch is formed at the corner on the lower side of the door on the folded side of the outer panel to prevent the occurrence of wrinkles, and a slight gap is formed between this notch and the corner of the inner panel. Since a large gap is generated, a problem occurs in that the sealing material filled between the overlapping surfaces of the outer panel and the inner panel during the hemming process protrudes from the gap.
[0006]
In addition, if the amount of the sealing material is reduced in order to prevent such a sealing material from protruding, the rust prevention effect naturally decreases.
[0007]
Therefore, the present invention provides a vehicle body panel structure of an automobile which can prevent a sealing material filled in a portion where an outer panel and an inner panel overlap with each other from protruding outside without reducing a sealing material filling amount. .
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, the outer panel and the inner panel constituting the vehicle body panel are arranged at a required interval, and the edges of these panels are overlapped and joined, and the sealing material is attached to the overlapped portion. A trap portion for preventing the sealing material from protruding is formed at a required portion of the portion filled with the.
[0009]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, when the overlapping portion at the edge of the outer panel and the inner panel is pressed for bonding, the sealing material filled in the overlapping portion tends to protrude outside the overlapping portion. Since a part of the sealing material overflowing between the portions stays in the trap portion, the sealing material can be prevented from protruding outside.
[0010]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0011]
FIGS. 1 to 3 show a first embodiment in which the present invention is applied to a side door arranged vertically in a side opening of an automobile. FIG. 1 is a partial perspective view of the door as viewed from the back, and FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view along the line AA in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view along the line BB in FIG.
[0012]
In FIG. 1, a door body 1 as a vehicle body panel includes an outer panel 2 and an inner panel 3.
[0013]
The outer panel 2 and the inner panel 3 are arranged at a required interval, and their front and rear edge portions and the lower edge portion are fastened and connected.
[0014]
Specifically, flanges 3A are formed on the front, rear and lower edge portions of the inner panel 3 so as to rise toward the outer panel 2 and are stepped and formed. The edge and the lower edge are wound and joined together by a hemming process in which the flange portion 3A is included and folded back.
[0015]
At the corner formed by the lower side and the side of the door body 1, the lower side of the folded edge 2A is formed to prevent the corner of the folded edge 2A of the outer panel 2 from being wrinkled. A notch 2B having a required width is formed at the boundary between the vertical axis and the vertical side.
[0016]
A sealing material 4 is applied in advance to the inner surface of the flange portion 3A of the inner panel 3 (the surface overlapping with the general portion near the folded edge portion 2A of the outer panel 2), and these flange portions 3A are tightened by the above-mentioned tightening connection. As shown in FIG. 2, a sealing portion 4 is densely filled in the overlapped portion between the inner side surface of the outer panel 2 and the inner side surface of the outer panel 2 to take measures against rust in the overlapped portion.
[0017]
A trap portion 5 for preventing the sealing material 4 from protruding is formed at a required portion of the portion filled with the sealing material 4.
[0018]
In the present embodiment, a notch 3B extending from the lower side to the side is formed in the corner of the inner panel 3 at the lower corner formed by the lower side and the side of the door body 1. The trap part 5 is formed around the notch part 3B in the above-mentioned fastening connection part by molding.
[0019]
That is, a trap portion (sealing material reservoir) 5 of a required gap surrounded by the folded edge portion 2A of the outer panel 2, the general portion, and the notch portion 3B of the flange portion 3A of the inner panel 3 is formed at the above-mentioned fastening portion. Is done.
[0020]
In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, the lower part of the door body 1 is separated from the outer panel 2 in the vicinity of the bent portion of the flange portion 3B of the inner panel 3 from the inner panel. A recess 6 is provided in a portion of the notch portion 3B of the outer panel 2 which is apart from a terminal of the folded edge portion 2A which is a terminal for tightening the outer panel 2, and a drain hole 7 is provided between the recess 6 and a general portion of the outer panel 2. Is formed.
[0021]
According to the above-described embodiment, when the flange portion 3A of the inner panel 3 and the edge portion of the outer panel 2 are wound and connected by hemming, the pressing force causes the flange portion 3A and the general portion of the outer panel 2 to overlap. The sealing material 4 filled between the surfaces overflows, and a part thereof flows to the lower corner of the door body 1 provided with the notch 2B. As described above, the trapping portion 5 having a required gap surrounded by the folded edge portion 2A of the outer panel 2 and the notch portion 3B of the flange portion 3A of the inner panel 3 exists in the portion, as described above. 4 can be reliably prevented from being trapped by the trap portion 5 and protruding outside from the cutout portion 2B of the folded edge portion 2A.
[0022]
As described above, in the case of the vehicle body panel vertically arranged in the side opening of the vehicle body as in the door body 1 of the present embodiment, the winding fastening portion at the lower corner is provided with the folded edge 2A of the outer panel 2. A notch 2B for preventing wrinkles is provided, and there is a concern that the sealing material 4 may protrude from the notch 2B during hemming processing. As a matter of course, it is not necessary to reduce the filling amount of the sealing material in consideration of the protrusion of the sealing material 4 to the outside, so that the rust-preventing effect of the tightened joint portion can be maintained at a high level.
[0023]
Further, in the present embodiment, a recess 6 is provided at the lower corner of the door body 1 with a cutout 3B of the inner panel 3 as a molding end at a portion away from the terminal of the folded edge 2A of the outer panel 2, and the door body 1 A drain hole 7 communicating between the inside and the outside is formed, and car wash water, rainwater, etc., which have entered the door body 1 are drained from the drain hole 7, so that a middle portion of the lower side portion of the inner panel 3 is provided. There is no problem that the sealing material protrudes from the drain hole, unlike the case where the drain hole is formed in the portion.
[0024]
FIG. 4 shows a different example in which the present invention is applied to the door main body 1. In the second embodiment, the outer panel 2 and the inner panel 3 constituting the door main body 1 are wound and joined by hemming, As in the first embodiment, the sealing material 4 is filled in the overlapping portion of the flange portion 3A of the inner panel 3 and the general portion of the outer panel 2.
[0025]
A drain hole 7A is formed in the middle part of the lower horizontal side of the inner panel 3 from the part separated from the outer panel 2 of the inner panel 3 to the above-mentioned fastening part in the same manner as a general door body. The water that has entered the door body 1 is drained from the drain hole 7A.
[0026]
Here, the drainage hole 7A is formed so as to be widened in the lateral direction at the fastening portion, and this widened portion is used as a trap portion 5A.
[0027]
According to the structure of the second embodiment, when the peripheral edge portions of the outer panel 2 and the inner panel 3 are tightened by hemming and joined, the above-mentioned sealing material 4 is positioned outward from the upper edge of the folded edge portion 2A in the drain hole 7A. Although it tends to protrude, the lower portion of the drainage hole 7A is widened in the lateral direction at the fastening portion to form the trap portion 5A, so that the trapping material 5A traps the overflowing sealing material 4. The protrusion to the outside can be reliably avoided.
[0028]
In the first and second embodiments, the door body of the side door is shown as the body panel 1 in which the peripheral edge portion is wound and connected. However, in addition to the above, the present invention is applied to a back door, a hood or a trunk lid which is arranged in an inclined manner. Similar effects can be obtained.
[0029]
In addition, by combining the structure of the second embodiment with the structure of the first embodiment, it is possible to achieve both improvement of drainage and improvement of the effect of preventing the sealing material from protruding.
[0030]
5 and 6 show a third embodiment in which the present invention is applied around a wheel arch of a front fender or a rear fender.
[0031]
The fender 11 as a vehicle body panel has an outer panel (fender panel) 12 and an inner panel (wheel house outer) 13 arranged vertically at a required interval, and ends of the two panels 12, 13 in a wheel arch portion. The edges are formed as flange portions 12A and 13A bent toward the inside of the vehicle body, and these flange portions 12A and 13A are overlapped and joined.
[0032]
In order to prevent water from entering between the outer panel 12 and the inner panel 13 due to splash or the like from the overlapping portions of the terminal portions of the flange portions 12A and 13A, a sealing material 14 is provided between the bent base portions of the flange portions 12A and 13A. Is filled.
[0033]
A mounting hole 16 is provided in the overlapping portion of the flange portions 12A and 13A, and a component such as a mud guard is mounted through the mounting hole 16.
[0034]
Since the mounting hole 16 is close to the bent base of the flange filled with the sealing material 14, there is a possibility that the filled sealing material 14 may protrude into the mounting hole 16 through a slight clearance at the overlapping portion of the flange portions 12A and 13A. .
[0035]
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the portion where the mounting hole 16 of the flange portion 13A of the inner panel 13 is formed is cut out from the end to the sealing material filling portion (slightly upper portion of the flange bending base) and cut out. The notch 17 forms a trap (sealing material reservoir) 15 around the bent base of the flange to prevent the sealing material 14 from protruding.
[0036]
Therefore, according to the structure of the third embodiment, the sealing material 14 filled between the flange bent base portions of the outer and inner panels 12 and 13 of the fender 11 is changed from the state shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 5, the sealing material 14 flows to the mounting hole 16 side, and in the portion where the mounting hole 16 is formed, the sealing material 14 flowing to the trap portion 14 around the bent base of the inner panel 13 is retained by the surface tension. As a result, it is possible to avoid flowing out (protruding) to the mounting hole 16.
[0037]
As a result, it is possible to prevent the sealing material 14 from protruding into the mounting hole 16 and hinder the mounting of components such as the mudguard.
[0038]
FIG. 7 shows a fourth embodiment as a modification of the third embodiment. In the present embodiment, the sealing material 14 is filled with the edge 17a of the notch 17 around the bent base of the inner panel 13 around the flange. Curling molding is performed outward from the part.
[0039]
