Abstract
汎用のキーボードの鍵盤数に応じたキー設定を行うこと
の出来る、設定プログラムを提供すること。 【解決手段】ゲーム機本体16に、所定数の鍵盤から構
成されるキーボードを接続して、キーボードをモニタ9
上に表示制御される画像に従って操作することにより、
所定のゲームを行うことの出来るゲームプログラムKG
Pにおいて、ゲーム機本体に接続された汎用キーボード
17の鍵盤数を検出演算する鍵盤数検出演算手順(S2
からS9など)及び、検出演算した汎用キーボードの鍵
盤数が、所定の鍵盤数以上の場合に、検出演算した鍵盤
数に応じて、鍵盤セットを一つ以上汎用キーボードに設
定する鍵盤セット設定手順(S9からS13など)を有
する。汎用キーボードでも簡単にキーボードゲームプロ
グラムを楽しむことが出来、わざわざ専用のコントロー
ラを準備する必要が無く、汎用性の高いゲームプログラ
ムの提供が可能となる。

表示される操作指示符号に応じて、ゲーム装置に接続さ
れたキーボードを操作して、演奏の優劣を競うキーボー
ドゲームに係わり、特に、キーボードとして汎用キーボ
ードを使用する際に適用する好適な汎用キーボード設定
プログラムに関する。
場合、キーボードゲーム専用に準備されたキーボードを
ゲーム装置に接続して、ゲームを行っていた。
レーヤが既に自分で汎用のキーボードを持っているよう
な場合でも、ゲーム専用のキーボードを購入しなければ
ゲームを楽しむことが出来ない不都合があった。
キーボードゲームプログラムを開発することが望まれて
いたが、汎用のキーボードは、機種により鍵盤数が大幅
に相違しており、単に汎用キーボードをゲーム装置に接
続可能にしただけでは、接続された汎用キーボードの特
性を生かし切れない事態が生じる。
ログラム側でゲーム装置に接続された汎用のキーボード
の鍵盤数を認識することが出来、該認識された鍵盤数に
応じたキー設定を行うことの出来るキーボードゲームプ
ログラムにおける汎用キーボード設定プログラムを提供
することを目的とする。

た汎用キーボードの鍵盤数が、所定の鍵盤数以上の場合
に、該検出演算した鍵盤数に応じて、前記鍵盤セットを
一つ以上前記汎用キーボードに設定する鍵盤セット設定
手順(キーボード設定プログラムGKPのステップS9
からステップS13など)を有する、ことを特徴として
構成される。

(9)上に表示すると共に、プレーヤに対して前記汎用
キーボード上の所定の鍵盤を操作するように促す検出操
作促進表示手順(KSS)を有し、前記鍵盤数検出演算
手順は、前記検出操作促進表示手順に基づいて前記モニ
タ上に表示される表示に従って、プレーヤが前記汎用キ
ーボードを操作することにより、前記ゲーム機本体に入
力される信号(SG)から、前記ゲーム機本体に接続さ
れたキーボードの鍵盤数を検出演算することを特徴とし
て構成される。

グラムにおいて、前記検出操作促進表示手順(KSS)
は、前記モニタ上に表示されたキーボード画像(KP)
において、プレーヤが操作すべき鍵盤の位置を画像で指
示する(図2の矢印ARや、明滅するフラッシュサイン
など)ための操作位置指示表示手順(ODI)を有する
ことを特徴として構成される。

グラムにおいて、前記鍵盤セット設定手順が設定する鍵
盤セットを構成する鍵盤数は、演奏に必要な演奏鍵盤と
しての鍵盤数(例えば、24鍵)と、演奏に付随した設
定などに必要な補助キーとして使用する補助鍵盤として
の鍵盤数(例えば、4鍵)を合計した鍵盤数より以上の
鍵盤数に設定されていることを特徴として構成される。

グラムにおいて、前記鍵盤セット設定手順は、前記鍵盤
数検出演算手順が検出演算した汎用キーボードの鍵盤数
が所定の鍵盤数(例えば、61鍵)以上の場合に、前記
鍵盤セットを2セット、前記汎用キーボードに設定する
ことを特徴として構成される。

も簡単にキーボードゲームプログラムを楽しむことが出
来、わざわざ専用のコントローラを準備する必要が無
く、汎用性の高いゲームプログラムの提供が可能とな
る。
進表示手順(KSS)により、キーボード画像(KP)
を前記モニタ(9)上に表示すると共に、プレーヤに対
して前記汎用キーボード上の所定の鍵盤を操作するよう
に促すことが可能となる。プレーヤは自分がゲーム機本
体に接続した汎用キーボードの鍵盤数を認識していなく
ても、ゲームプログラムの実行に必要な鍵盤数の検出を
ゲームプログラム側で主体的に行うことが出来、迅速な
鍵盤セットの設定が可能となり、プレーヤの本来の目的
であるゲームプログラムに基づいた演奏ゲームを早く開
始することが出来る。
示表示手順(ODI)が、モニタ上に表示されたキーボ
ード画像(KP)において、プレーヤが操作すべき鍵盤
の位置を画像で指示する(図2の矢印ARや、明滅する
フラッシュサインなど)ことにより、プレーヤは、次に
自分が行う操作を視覚的に直ちに認識することが出来、
迅速な鍵盤セットの設定が可能となり、プレーヤの本来
の目的であるゲームプログラムに基づいた演奏ゲームを
早く開始することが出来る。
設定手順が設定する鍵盤数は、演奏に必要な演奏鍵盤と
しての鍵盤数(例えば、24鍵)と、演奏に付随した設
定などに必要な補助キーとして使用する補助鍵盤として
の鍵盤数(例えば、4鍵)を合計した鍵盤数より以上の
鍵盤数に設定されているので、専用のコントローラに設
けられている演奏鍵盤以外の補助キーを、汎用キーボー
ドの鍵盤上に割り付けることが出来、専用のコントロー
ラと同等の機能を汎用キーボードに持たせることが可能
となる。
設定手順は、鍵盤数検出演算手順が検出演算した汎用キ
ーボードの鍵盤数が所定の鍵盤数(例えば、61鍵)以
上の場合に、前記鍵盤セットを2セット、前記汎用キー
ボードに設定するので、二人のプレーヤによる同時プレ
イが可能となり、通常、専用のコントローラよりも大き
なオクターブ数を有する汎用キーボードの長所を生かし
た形での鍵盤セットの設定が可能となる。

録媒体としてのCD−ROM15に記録されたキーボー
ドゲームなどのゲーム用プログラムに従って所定のゲー
ムを実行するものである。ゲーム装置20は、マイクロ
プロセッサを主体として構成されたCPU1と、そのC
PU1に対する主記憶装置としてのROM2およびRA
M3と、画像処理および音声処理用のグラフィックスプ
ロセッシングユニット(GPU)4およびサウンドプロ
セッシングユニット(SPU)6と、それらのユニット
に対するバッファ5、7と、CD−ROM読取装置8と
を有している。ROM2には、ゲーム機の全体の動作制
御に必要なプログラムとしてのオペレーティングシステ
ムが書き込まれる。RAM3には記憶媒体としてのCD
−ROM15から読み取ったゲーム用のプログラムやデ
ータが必要に応じて書き込まれる。GPU4はCPU1
から画像データを受け取ってフレームバッファ5上にゲ
ーム画面を描画するとともに、その描画された画像のデ
ータを所定のビデオ再生信号に変換して所定のタイミン
グでモニタ9に出力する。SPU6は、CD−ROM1
5から読み出されてサウンドバッファ7に記録された音
声、楽音等のデータや音源データ等を再生してスピーカ
10から出力させる。CD−ROM読取装置8は、CP
U1からの指示に従ってCD−ROM15上に記録され
たプログラムやデータを読み取り、その読み取った内容
に対応した信号を出力する。CD−ROM15にはゲー
ムの実行に必要なプログラムやデータが記録されてい
る。モニタ9には家庭用のテレビ受像機が、スピーカ1
0にはそのテレビ受像機の内蔵スピーカが一般に使用さ
れる。
信制御デバイス11が接続され、そのデバイス11に
は、キーボードゲームプログラムを実行して演奏を楽し
むための専用キーボードや、プレーヤが所持していてい
る汎用キーボード17等のコントローラ12及び補助記
憶装置13が、USBポートなどの接続ポートを介して
それぞれ着脱自在に接続される。コントローラ12は入
力装置として機能するものであり、そこにはプレーヤに
よる操作を受け付ける操作部材が設けられる。通信制御
デバイス11は一定周期(例えば1/60秒)でコントロ
ーラ12の操作状態を走査し、その走査結果に対応した
信号をCPU1に出力する。CPU1はその信号に基づ
いてコントローラ12の操作状態を判別する。コントロ
ーラ12及び補助記憶装置13は通信制御デバイス11
に対して複数並列に接続可能である。
10、コントローラ12、CD−ROM15及び補助記
憶装置13を除く他の構成要素は所定のハウジング内に
一体的に収容されてゲーム機本体16を構成する。この
ゲーム機本体16がコンピュータとして機能する。
ドゲームプログラムKGPに従って実行されるゲーム
は、CD−ROM15に記録された音楽演奏データをS
PU6からスピーカ10に出力してその演奏データに基
づくBGMを再生しつつ、そのBGMに合わせたコント
ローラ12の操作を、モニタ9を通じて符号などでプレ
ーヤに視覚的に指示し、その指示に合わせてプレーヤが
コントローラ12を操作すれば、BGMに対して適切な
音楽が重畳されて楽器を演奏した気分を体験できる、と
いういわゆる音楽シミュレーションゲームである。
ローラ12は、キーボードゲームプログラムKGPの実
行に際して専用に準備されたキーボードの他に、プレー
ヤが所有する汎用キーボード17も接続して、キーボー
ドゲームプログラムKGPを実行し、ゲームを楽しむこ
とが出来る。専用のキーボードでは、ゲームプログラム
の実行に必要な所定数の鍵盤と、所定の制御ボタンなど
が鍵盤セットとして予め設定されているので、当該専用
のキーボードを通信制御デバイス11に接続するだけ
で、キーボードゲームプログラムKGPを実行してゲー
ムを楽しむことが出来る。しかし、汎用のキーボード1

ゲームプログラムKGPを実行してゲームを楽しむこと
は出来ない。
I(「社団法人音楽電子事業協会」の登録商標)キーボ
ードなどの汎用キーボード17を、図2に示すように、
ゲーム機本体16の通信制御デバイス11に接続する
と、汎用キーボード17からの機器識別信号IDがCP
U1に出力され、これを受けてCPU1は、キーボード
ゲームプログラムKGP中の、キーボード認識プログラ
ムKIPに基づいて、通信制御デバイス11に専用キー
ボードではなく、汎用キーボード17が接続されたこと
を認識する。
7が接続されたことをCPU1が認識したところで、C
PU1は、キーボードゲームプログラムKGP中の汎用
キーボード設定プログラムGKPに基づいて、当該接続
された汎用のキーボード17に対して、当該汎用のキー
ボード17で、キーボードゲームプログラムKGPを実
行する場合に必要な設定処理を行う。
図3に示すように、ステップS1、S2で、まず、接続
された汎用のキーボード17の鍵盤数を確認する処理開
始する。即ち、汎用キーボード設定プログラムGKP
は、ステップS2で、該プログラムGKP中の検出操作
促進表示手順KSSを実行し、予めプログラムGKP内
に格納されたキーボード画像KPを、図2に示すよう
に、GPU41を介してモニタ9上に表示する処理を行
う。同時に汎用キーボード設定プログラムGKPは、鍵
盤数の確認演算処理に必要なデータを得るために、プレ
ーヤが操作すべき鍵盤の位置、即ちキーボード画像KP
の最も左側の鍵盤に対応する位置を、モニタ9上で矢印
ARや、明滅するフラッシュサインなどの画像で指示す
る、操作位置指示表示手順(ODI)を実行する。
どのメッセージMSGをモニタ9上に表示したり、スピ
ーカ10などを介して音声で案内したり、などの処理を
実行して、プレーヤに対してプレーヤが接続した汎用キ
ーボード17の最も左側の鍵盤を押下するように促す処
理も同時に実行する。

S4で、鍵盤17aが押下されたことを認識する。
Pは、前述の操作位置指示表示手順KSSを再度実行
し、図2に示すキーボード画像KPの最も右側の鍵盤部
分を、矢印ARや、明滅するフラッシュサインなどで指
示し、「最も右側の鍵盤を押して下さい」などのメッセ
ージMSGをモニタ9上に表示する。これにより、プレ
ーヤに対してプレーヤが接続した汎用キーボード17の
最も右側の鍵盤を押下するように促す。

を押下する。すると、汎用キーボード17から最も右側
の鍵盤17bに対応する信号SGが出力され、キーボー

S6で、鍵盤17bが押下されたことを認識する。

汎用キーボード17の鍵盤数が、ゲームプログラムKG
Pを実行するのに必要な最低鍵盤数である28鍵以上有
るか否かを判定する。鍵盤数が28鍵未満の場合には、
ゲームプログラムKGPを実行することが出来ないの
で、ステップS8に入り、適宜な警告文を表示して、キ
ーボード設定プログラムGKPを終了する。なお、汎用
キーボード17の鍵盤数は、左右の両端の鍵盤17a、
17bからの信号SG、SGから演算することにより、
容易に求めることが出来る。
盤としての2オクターブ分の鍵盤数、24鍵と、演奏に
付随した設定などに必要な補助キーとして使用する補助
鍵盤としての鍵盤数、4鍵との合計数で設定されている
が、この最低鍵盤数は、任意であり、28鍵に限らな
い。
は、ステップS9に入り、プレーヤが接続した汎用キー
ボード17について、ゲームプログラムKGPを実行す
るのに必要な、最少28の鍵盤から構成される鍵盤のセ
ットSETが、何セット設定できるかについて判定す
る。即ち、キーボード設定プログラムGKPでは、ゲー
ムプログラムKGPを汎用キーボード17で同時に実行
可能な鍵盤セットSETの数をシングル又はダブルで設
定することが出来、シングルの設定では、汎用のキーボ
ード17上に、最少28の鍵盤から構成される鍵盤のセ
ットSETが一組だけ設定される。また、ダブルの設定
では、汎用のキーボード17上に、最少28の鍵盤から
なる鍵盤セットが二組設定され、同時に二人のプレーヤ
が汎用のキーボード17を操作して演奏ゲームを楽しむ
ことが出来る。なお、図2に示すキーボード17には、
二組の鍵盤セットSETが図中左右方向に並ぶ形で設定
されている。
用キーボード17の鍵盤数が61鍵以上有る場合には、
ステップS10を経てステップS11で、汎用のキーボ
ード17上に二組の鍵盤セットを設定するダブル設定処
理に入り、プレーヤが接続した汎用キーボード17の鍵
盤数が61鍵未満の場合には、ステップS12を経てス
テップS13で、汎用のキーボード17上に一組の鍵盤
セットSETを設定するシングル設定処理に入る。
キーボード設定プログラムGKPのステップS14に入
り、以下の鍵盤詳細設定処理を実行する。まず、ステッ
プS15で、設定項目を選択する操作をプレーヤに行わ
せ、S17に入り、以下ステップS23までの間に、鍵
盤の基準となる音としての「ド」の位置を設定する処
理、ゲームプログラムKGPを実行するため専用に準備
された、オリジナルのキーボードには設けられている
が、汎用のキーボード17には設けられていない、プレ
イ中等においてモニタ9の画面に表示される複数の選択
枝を選択決定する際などに使用するキー(図4では、
「ホイール」と称されている)の割り当て処理、その他
の「スタートボタン」や、「セレクトボタン」などの制
御ボタンの割り当て処理を行う。
細設定処理の内容を解除したい場合には、キーボード設
定プログラムGKPは、プレーヤからの入力に応じて、
ステップS16からステップS24を経由して、ステッ
プS25からステップS30の設定解除処理を行う。

S32に示すように、二組の鍵盤セットを設定する関係
上、それぞれの設定される鍵盤セット毎に、鍵盤の基準

リジナルのキーボードには設けられているが、汎用のキ
ーボード17には設けられていない、プレイ中等におい
てモニタ9の画面に表示される複数の選択枝を選択決定
する際などに使用するキー(図4では、「ホイール」と
称されている)の割り当て処理、その他の「スタートボ
タン」や、「セレクトボタン」などの制御ボタンの割り
当て処理を行う。この点は、ステップS33以下の設定
の解除についても同様である。
2に示すように、一組或いは二組の鍵盤セットSETが
設定されたところで、キーボード設定プログラムGKP
は、図5に示すステップS34などにおいてテストプレ
イを行って、設定内容が正しいか否かをプレーヤに確認
させる。
い場合には、ステップS35のリセット判断を経由し
て、図3のステップS36で、汎用のキーボード17に
設定された鍵盤セットに対する各種の設定を反映させる
処理をCPU1が実行して、キーボード設定プログラム
GKPの実行は終了する。
組又は二組の鍵盤セットSETが設定されたところで、
プレーヤは、キーボード17上に設定された鍵盤セット
の、スタートボタンに対応する鍵盤を押下して、キーボ
ードゲームプログラムKGPを実行し、音楽演奏のシミ
ュレーションゲームを、汎用のキーボード17上に設定
された鍵盤セットSETを操作して、楽しむ。
KGPは、コントローラ12として、ゲーム専用に準備
された専用のキーボードを用いるほかに、汎用のキーボ
ード17をコントローラ12として使用する場合につい
て説明したが、専用のキーボードを用いずに、汎用のキ
ーボード17に、前述のキーボード設定プログラムGK
Pにより、一組以上の鍵盤セットを設定して使用するよ
うに構成することも当然可能である。

Claims (5)
- 【請求項1】 ゲーム機本体に、所定数の鍵盤から構成
される鍵盤セットが設定されたキーボードをコントロー
ラとして接続することにより、該コントローラに設定さ
れた鍵盤セットを、モニタ上に表示制御される画像に従
ってプレーヤが操作することにより、所定のゲームを行
うことの出来るキーボードゲームプログラムにおいて、 前記ゲーム機本体に接続された汎用キーボードの鍵盤数
を検出演算する鍵盤数検出演算手順及び、 前記鍵盤数検出演算手順が検出演算した汎用キーボード
の鍵盤数が、所定の鍵盤数以上の場合に、該検出演算し
た鍵盤数に応じて、前記鍵盤セットを一つ以上前記汎用
キーボードに設定する鍵盤セット設定手順を有する、こ
とを特徴とするキーボードゲームプログラムおける汎用
キーボード設定プログラム。 - 【請求項2】 キーボード画像を前記モニタ上に表示す
ると共に、プレーヤに対して前記汎用キーボード上の所
定の鍵盤を操作するように促す検出操作促進表示手順を
有し、 前記鍵盤数検出演算手順は、前記検出操作促進表示手順
に基づいて前記モニタ上に表示される表示に従って、プ
レーヤが前記汎用キーボードを操作することにより、前
記ゲーム機本体に入力される信号から、前記ゲーム機本
体に接続されたキーボードの鍵盤数を検出演算すること
を特徴とする、請求項1記載のキーボードゲームプログ
ラムにおける汎用キーボード設定プログラム。 - 【請求項3】 前記検出操作促進表示手順は、前記モニ
タ上に表示されたキーボード画像において、プレーヤが
操作すべき鍵盤の位置を画像で指示するための操作位置
指示表示手順を有することを特徴とする、請求項2記載
のキーボードゲームプログラムにおける汎用キーボード
設定プログラム。 - 【請求項4】 前記鍵盤セット設定手順が設定する鍵盤
セットを構成する鍵盤数は、演奏に必要な演奏鍵盤とし
ての鍵盤数と、演奏に付随した設定などに必要な補助キ
ーとして使用する補助鍵盤としての鍵盤数を合計した鍵
盤数より以上の鍵盤数に設定されていることを特徴とす
る、請求項1記載のキーボードゲームプログラムにおけ
る汎用キーボード設定プログラム。 - 【請求項5】 前記鍵盤セット設定手順は、前記鍵盤数
検出演算手順が検出演算した汎用キーボードの鍵盤数が
所定の鍵盤数以上の場合に、前記鍵盤セットを2セッ
ト、前記汎用キーボードに設定することを特徴とする、
請求項1記載のキーボードゲームプログラムにおける汎
用キーボード設定プログラム。
