Claims (5)
- 第１の磁極及び主磁極を有する磁気ヘッドと、磁気ディスクとを備え、
前記主磁極は、前記第１の磁極と交差する方向の一対の第１の辺と、前記第１の磁極に対向する一対の第２の辺と、前記第１の辺と磁気ディスクの回転方向に対して上流側の第２の辺との間に設けられた第３の辺とを有し、
前記磁気ディスクの回転方向と前記主磁極の膜厚方向とのなす角度が最大となる磁気ディスク上の位置において、前記主磁極の前記磁気ディスクの面上への射影の前記磁気ディスクの半径方向の長さが前記磁気ディスクのトラックピッチ以下であることを特徴とする垂直磁気ディスク装置。 - 第１の磁極及び主磁極を有する磁気ヘッドと、磁気ディスクとを備え、
前記主磁極は、前記第１の磁極と交差する方向の一対の第１の辺と、前記第１の磁極に対向する一対の第２の辺と、前記第１の辺と磁気ディスクの回転方向に対して上流側の第２の辺との間に設けられた第３の辺とを有し、
前記主磁極の形状が、前記磁気ディスクの回転方向と前記主磁極の膜厚方向とのなす角度が最大となる角度Ｓの磁気ディスク上の位置において、Ｐ×ｓｉｎ（Ｓ）とＷ×ｃｏｓ（Ｓ）との和（但し、Ｗは前記主磁極のトラック幅、Ｐは前記主磁極の磁極厚を示す）が前記磁気ディスクのトラックピッチ以下であることを特徴とする垂直磁気ディスク装置。 - 前記主磁極の前記磁気ディスクの面上への射影と前記磁気ディスクのトラック幅との重複部分が、トラック幅の０％を超え５％以下の範囲となる如く構成されたことを特徴とする請求項１又は２に記載の垂直磁気ディスク装置。
- 前記第１の磁極は、前記主磁極よりも磁気ディスクの回転方向に対して上流側に配置され、前記第１の磁極と主磁極との間にはギャップがあることを特徴とする請求項１又は２に記載の垂直磁気ディスク装置。
- 前記第３の辺は、前記ギャップ側に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項１又は２に記載の垂直磁気ディスク装置。
