Abstract
Un riscaldatore catalitico a tiraggio naturale comprendente un corpo tubolare che definisce un passaggio allungato per il flusso di fluido avente un ingresso per la miscela aria/combustibile ad una estremità e un'uscita del prodotto di combustione alla sua altra estremità. All'interno del passaggio a valle del bruciatore catalitico primario è disposto un bruciatore catalitico secondario per il completamento della combustione di eventuale combustibile non ossidato contenuto nello scarico proveniente dal bruciatore catalitico primario. Una bassa caduta di pressione attraverso il bruciatore primario viene realizzata mediante una costruzione tubolare del bruciatore tenuta contro la parete di passaggio, mentre la combustione della maggior parte dei reagenti viene realizzata prevedendo un'area appropriata di superficie del catalizzatore. All'interno del bruciatore può essere disposto un elemento di agitazione per spingere in modo delicato i reagenti all'infuori verso il catalizzatore. Una bassa caduta di pressione attraverso il bruciatore secondario viene realizzata prevedendo una pluralità di passaggi assiali che presentano una resistenza relativamente piccola al flusso di gas. Le superfici dei passaggi sono rivestite con un materiale catalizzatore in modo da assicurare che eventuali reagenti non ossidati vengano ossidati.A natural draft catalytic heater comprising a tubular body which defines an elongated passage for the flow of fluid having an inlet for the air / fuel mixture at one end and an outlet of the combustion product at its other end. A secondary catalytic burner is arranged inside the passage downstream of the primary catalytic burner to complete the combustion of any non-oxidized fuel contained in the exhaust coming from the primary catalytic burner. A low pressure drop across the primary burner is achieved by means of a tubular construction of the burner held against the passage wall, while the combustion of most of the reactants is achieved by providing an appropriate surface area of the catalyst. Inside the burner an agitation element can be arranged to gently push the reactants outwards towards the catalyst. A low pressure drop across the secondary burner is achieved by providing a plurality of axial passages which have a relatively small resistance to the flow of gas. The surfaces of the passages are coated with a catalyst material to ensure that any non-oxidized reagents are oxidized.
