A portable infra-red radiation heater comprises a gas supply tank 1 with an outlet valve 2, a gas supply tube 4 bent through 90 degrees, a gas nozzle-air inspirator 5 removably projected into a burner housing 6 having an outlet 10 containing two catalytically activated screens 12 placed between a protective screen 13 and upstream gas diffusing screens 11. The gas nozzle-air inspirator 5 is inserted into the burner housing 6 through a collar 8 provided with thumb screws 9 for adjustably clamping the housing 6 to the inspirator 5. The catalytic diffusion and protection screens are seated on an insulating material 17 on an annular wall 14 of the outlet 10 and are held by a retaining ring 15 which is secured by inwardly projecting prongs 16 or set screws. The gas supply tank 1 is rotatably mounted in an angled support. Specification 775,550 is referred to.
