Abstract
In un sistema a microprocessori è prevista un'area di memoria dedicata per immagazzinare un programma di servizio di interruzione di sistema personalizzabile, dati di stato di processore al tempo dell'interruzione ed un indicatore di arresto indicante che la CPU fu interrotta da uno stato di arresto. L'area di memoria dedicata è normalmente non mappata come parte dello spazio di memoria principale, essendo così mantenuta inaccessibile al sistema operativo e programmi applicativi. Secondo l'invenzione, un integratore di sistema o OEM può fornire interruzioni trasparenti a livello di sistema con riavvio automatico a stato di arresto che funzioneranno in modo affidabile in qualunque ambiente operativo ed essere liberato dall'onere di gestire riavvio da stato di arresto.
