Il procedimento concerne il trattamento superficiale di un utensile per asportazione di truciolo, e comprende le seguenti fasi:a) presgrassatura b) decappaggio c) sgrassatura elettrolitica d) neutralizzazione acida e) nichelatura f) deposizione elettrogalvanica di uno strato di metallo di elevata durezza superficiale e basso coefficiente di attrito g) deidrogenazione.Un utensile così trattato ha un basso coefficiente di attrito, rivelandosi adatto in particolare per la lavorazione di rame, alluminio o metalli di caratteristiche similari.La sua durata media risulta aumentata di più di tre volte, ed il suo costo di solo due volte.
