Abstract
1411414 High voltage cables PIRELLI GENERAL CABLE WORKS Ltd 19 June 1973 [25 July 1972] 34718/72 Heading H1A A liquid-filled high voltage cable, with impegnated lapped paper tape insulation, and overall sheath, has a liquid askarel impregnant, i.e. a chlorinated diphenyl dielectric material which is non-flammable, and has the paper tapes loaded with a finely-divided active material such as aluminium oxide, for the purpose, as disclosed in Specification 874,981, of acting upon those impurities in the dielectric which are stated to cause dielectrical energy loss, by binding the impurities to the active material itself. The cable may have inner and outer screening layers -of conventional type, and may have axial ducts for the impregnant.
