Abstract

1362519 Cables DELTA ENFIELD CABLES Ltd 15 Sept 1971 [15 Sept 1970] 44060/70 Heading H1A Individually-insulated phase conductors 1, 2, 3 of diamond-shaped cross-section are laid up helically so that their combined cross-section is hexagonal. Segmental neutral conductors 1A ... 3B are laid helically about conductors 1, 2, 3 with the same pitch so that a pair of neutral conductors is associated uniquely with each phase conductor. For identification of phases, any two neutral conductors corresponding to any two separate phase conductors may be coloured differently. Metal tape 5 is helically wound over the whole assembly to be in electrical contact with at least four neutral conductors, a small gap being left between each turn. The outer sheath 6 and phase conductor insulation 4 are of elastomeric plastics material; all conductors and the metal tape are preferably of aluminium.
