Abstract

1400588 Nickel-chromium stainless steel INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd 18 Sept 1972 [20 Sept 1971 1 Aug 1972] 43205/72 Heading C7A A stainless steel, possessing good casting properties, contains 6-30% nickel, from 14-26% chromium, from 2-5% silicon, from 0.3-1.4% boron, 0-0.15% carbon, 0-20% manganese, 0-3% copper, 0-8% molybdenum, 0-1.4% phosphorus and 0-1% niobium, the balance, apart from impurities and incidental elements being iron, with the proviso that 8(%Ni + %Mn) - 1.5(%Cr + %Mo) + 22(%Si) + 284(%B) + 189(%P) # 360 There may also be present sulphur up to 0.04%, selenium up to .25%, nitrogen up to .25%, titanium up to 0.3% and aluminium up to .3%. The steel may be solution treated in the range 1010‹C-1121‹C. [GB1400588A]
