Abstract
Steel contains by wt. 0.10-0.30 (0.15-0.22)% C, 0.10-1 (0.15-0.40)% Si, 0.5-1.5 (1-1.5)% Mn, 0.5-1.5 (0.8-1.2)% Cr, 0.10-0.8 (0.15-0.25)% Mn, 0.0005-0.0080 (0.0010-0.0035)% B, the balance being Fe and impurities, and opt. 0.4% Ni. To control the grain, Al, V, Nb, and/or Ti are opt. present. It has exceptional qualities of tempering and tenacity, equal or superior to those of high-alloy steel.
