Abstract

Laminated steel alloy comprises (a) a high alloy steel and (b) a low alloy steel . Layer (a) consists of (wt.%) 1.0-2.5 C; 0.2-1.0 Si; 0.1-2.0 Mn; 4-18 Cr; 0.7-10 Mo; 0-1 Ni; 0.10 W and 0-10 (V + Ta/Nb+Ti+N), The toal amt. of Cr+Mo+W;V+Ta/Nb+tI+N is at least 12 wt.%, the remainder being Fe and inevitable impurities. Layer (b) consists of 0.3-0.7C; 0.2-1.0 Si; 0.1-2.0 Mn; 1-5Cr and from a trace up to 0.15 V, the remainder being Fe and impurities.
