Abstract

1349293 Crimped elastic yarns BAYER AG 7 Oct 1971 [8 Oct 1970 12 Nov 1970] 46717/71 Heading D1F A process for the production of an elastic crimped yarn by a combined drawing-falsetwisting method, is characterised in that setting is carried out at filament speeds in excess of 300 metres per minute, directly after the false twist has been produced, at a constant filament tension by contact between the filament and a contact heating zone which has a length of not more than 400mm and is at a temperature of from 150‹ to 210‹C. A filament 2 is taken from a spinning bobbin 1 and fed to a contact heater 7 via a feed unit 3; from the heater 7, the filament passes through an internal friction false-twister 5 to be drawn on drafting roller 4. The spacing between the twisting unit 5 and the contact heater 7 is between 150 and 30 mm. The contact heater 7 is provided with a roughened contact surface and has a length not more than 400 mm. The depth of roughing of the contact surface is from 5-30mÁ. [GB1349293A]
