Abstract

1294471 Fluid treatment of a web JONATHAN LOGAN Inc 9 Dec 1969 [10 Dec 1968] 60125/69 Heading D1L A textile web F is overfed by feed rolls 17 and 18 onto an endless, moving foraminous felt 21 where it is sprayed from at least below and preforably from above and below the belt by jets of treatment liquid from nozzles 30, the force of the lower jets at least balancing the combined downward force of the upper jets and the weight of the wet and temporarily lifting parts of the web out of engagement with the belt, the web being removed from the belt by extraction rolls 35 and 36. The nozzles are adjustably mounted on pipes 31 which are adjustably mounted in a housing 11 containing said belt. The liquid may be treated by steam heated coils 48 in the base of the housing 11 and may be recirculated from a drain pipe 38 through a filter, surge tank and valves to the pipes 31. Two such belts in series (21A' and 21B', Fig. 4) may be employed, the first belt moving faster than the second. The drive of the belt, feed rolls and extraction rolls may be linked. [GB1294471A]
