[Also in Division A2] A syrup useful in preparing a confectionery comprises a composition having a dextrose equivalent (as defined) of less than 60, a levulose content of 3-16%, a dextrose content of 10- 35%, a maltose content of 10-25% and 15- 40% of oligosaccharides having a degree of polymerization of 6 and higher, said percentages being based on total carbohydrate solids present.
