Abstract

New confectionery product, e.g. soft or hard caramel, cooked sugar or gum balls, comprises a mixture of dextrose and an amylase hydrolysate of a macromolecule, of which at least half consists of polysaccharides having at least 7 glucose units. The dextrose equivalent of the hydrolysate is not >30. Product has low hygroscopicity and does not become tacky upon prolonged storage.
