999,923. Stackable and nestable boxes. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Nov. 6, 1963 [Aug. 7, 1962], No. 30134/62. Heading B8P. One set of stacking abutments 17 (Fig. 6), are located nearer one end wall 12 of a container than the opposite end wall 13 so that when in register with a pair of stacking recesses 22 on a lower container a space is formed between the front end walls 12 of the containers, to provide access to the lower container. The containers may be nested within one another and by rotation through 180 degrees the abutments 17 may register with another set of recesses 21 to be in a fully in-register vertical stack (Fig. 4). Triangles 26 (Fig. 1) and end flange 24 are recessed to facilitate stacking in the in-register and out-of-register positions respectively. When in the nesting position, projections 31 rest on flanges 15 to hold the containers slightly apart to facilitate handling. Pockets 38 with apertures 39 located beneath shoulders 40 accommodate contents marking cards. The containers may be stacked on a sloping frame (Fig. 6) against a lip 34 and held in position by upstanding pegs 36. The containers are of metal or plastics and may be open mesh.
