997,844. Transformers and inductors. MATERIAL ELECTRIQUE S.W. March 8, 1963 [March 9, 1962], No. 9263/63. Heading H1T. A winding is formed on an ungapped magnetic circuit by interconnecting a number of unclosed single turns, 1, 2 (Fig. 1) arranged upon the magnetic circuit 4. Each turn may be directly connected to the next (Fig. 3, not shown) and a separate connection piece 3 (Fig. 1) may be used, the actual joint being made by bolting, crimping, brazing or welding, and the turns may be notched where they cross interconnections 3, or cross one another (Fig. 2, not shown), insulation being provided at the crossover. The turns may have any shape, may each have three parallel conductors (Fig. 3, not shown), and may form part of a single or polyphase device.
