Abstract

1,099,491. Transformers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 29, 1965 [Feb. 5, 1964], No. 4862/64. Heading H1T. A winding for an inductive apparatus comprises a number of pairs of winding sections such as A, B and C, D, the winding sections of each pair being arranged closely together to provide a capacitative path between them the winding arrangement being such that capacitative currents produced by H.F. impulse voltages will follow a non-inductive path such as 110, A-B, 114, 113, D-C, 117. Winding section C may be connected to be next in sequence to winding section A (Fig. 2, not shown). One or both of the winding sections of a pair may be of the multi-layer crossover type. Instead of pancake coils, cylindrical coils may be used (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown). Instead of winding the sections from single conductor several conductors may be used.
