997,728. Multiple rotary garages. K. MORI. Jan. 8, 1963, No. 843/63. Heading E1A. [Also in Division B8] A rotary garage, Fig. 2, consists of a wheellike structure which is rotatably mounted on pedestals 1 and carry box cars freely pivoted to the spokes 3, 5 thereof for selective register with a platform 11 or turntable. The wheel is driven by an electric motor through a speed change mechanism and a pinion engaging a large gear carried by the wheel, suitable brake means being also provided, see Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 7, the car is driven on to a movable floor 28 which is moved in and out of a box car 7<SP>1</SP> by a pivotally mounted hydraulic jack 41, 43 co-operating with a lifting jack 29, 30, the base of the box car being provided with rollers 38 to facilitate matters. A control office incorporating electric indicators for indicating the condition of the box cars is provided.
