Abstract

997,517. Diaphragm pumps. CRAFTNEEDS Inc. Aug. 17, 1961 [Aug. 9, 1961], No. 29763/61. Heading F1A. A diaphragm 121 is secured at its outer periphery to a casing 1 and at its inner periphery to a cam follower sleeve 67 having a pin 69 engaging a helical cam groove 75 in a rotatable shaft 63 so that rotation of the shaft causes reciprocation of the sleeve 67 and diaphragm 121, the chambers formed on each side of the diaphragm having inlet and outlet flap valves. A bellows 110 is connected to the casing and sleeve 67 and seals the actuating mechanism from the pump chambers. The pump may be constructed of corrosion resistant plastic material.
