Abstract

Fungus diseases of banana plants are prevented by contacting the banana plant with a composition comprising 2-amino butane or a salt thereof. Specified salts are the hydrochloride, sulphate and acetate. Specified compositions contain solid or liquid adjuvants and may be in the form of aqueous solutions, dispersions or pastes or wax emulsions. Liquid compositions may contain anionic or non-ionic wetting agents.ALSO:Bananas and banana plants are preserved against fungal attack by treating e.g. by dipping, spraying or painting the fruit or plants with 2-amino butane or a salt thereof e.g. the hydrochloride, sulphate or acetate or a composition thereof. Specified compositions contain solid or liquid adjuvants and may be in the form of aqueous solutions, dispersions or pastes or wax emulsions. Liquid compositions may contain anionic or non-ionic wetting agents.
