990,326. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 17, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1963], No. 2179/64. Heading B4B. In a shaving head of the kind comprising a movable cutter co-operating with an apertured shear plate movable parallel to means forming a rim for stretching the user's skin, the rim-forming means also have a portion which extends over the shear plate and has a plurality of apertures through which the user's skin can protrude into contact with the shear plate. As shown, a rotary cutter 2 co-operates with an oscillatable slotted shear plate 1 and these parts are covered by a grid 4 attached to the shaver housing 5, the grid having a skinstretching rim 8 and a plurality of bars 6 to form apertures in the grid. Alternatively, the shaving head may have a reciprocable cylindrical cutter co-operating with an oscillatable shear plate which has the form of a cylinder or part of a cylinder.
