Abstract
990,127. Boxes. MARDON SON & HALL Ltd. Feb. 19, 1964 [March 7, 1963], No. 9043/63. Heading B8P. A box made from a single blank of cardboard or the like comprises four side walls 1, 2, 3, 4 to each of which is hingedly secured a triangular base portion 9, 10, 11, 12 respectively. A glue flap 5 is attached to wall 4. Partitions 13-20 are hingedly secured to the base portions. The triangular portions 9-12 with their partitions 13-20 are folded about score line 21 to lie face to face with the walls 1-4 and the exposed faces of the partitions 14, 15, 18, 19 and the undersurface of flap 5 are gummed. The blank is then bent about lines 22 and 23, the flap 5 being secured to the wall 1 and partitions 14, 15 and 18, 19 secured together. To erect the box pressure is applied at corners 24, 25, the two remaining pairs of partitions 16, 17 and 13, 20 being brought into face to face contact to provide a four compartmented box. The partitions 13, 17 have flaps 27, 26 which pass between the ends of partitions 14, 16 and 19, 20 respectively to provide an overlap at the meeting point of the partitions. After erection, flaps 6, 7 on the top edges of walls 1, 3 are bent over the contents and a lid 8 turned down and tucked inside the wall 4.
