Abstract

988,156. Tamper-proof cartons. AMERICAN CAN CO. April 30, 1962, No. 16352/62. Heading B8P. A tamper-proof carton is provided with locking means comprising a female slit 40, having a central segment 40a in a closure flap 32 and terminal segments 40b tapering towards and into the hingedly connected panel 26, and a male tab 45 connected to a second closure flap 31 by a throat portion 45b, said tab having a width equal to the length of the slit taken along a line passing through the ends thereof. The tab 45 is set back from the edge 31a of the flap 31, as shown in Fig. 3, so that when it is inserted in the split 40, extensions 45a pull back under the flap, thus preventing removal of the tab 45.
