Abstract
987,879. Delivery stopping. HAMEL G.m.b.H. May 26 1961 [May 28, 1960], No. 19044/61. Heading DID. In a doubling frame delivery stopping device wherein two or more yarns are forwarded by a pair of rollers 1, 2 the lower one of which is driven about a fixed axis while the upper one is driven by contact with the lower and is supported by horizontal bearing surfaces 4a, the yarns are associated with at least one pivoted segment-like member 10 such that when a yarn breaks or becomes absent a or the member 10 falls backwardly and pushes the top roller 2 along the bearing surfaces 4a to a position in which it rests on a fixed surface 15a and is out of contact with the driving roller 1; the unbroken or present yarn or yarns is, or are, thus trapped between roller 2 and surface 15a and broken by the continuing pull of the take up spindle. In the form shown two yarns are being doubled and they engage a lever 14 pivoted at 14a on a pin 13 fixed in member 10 such that the beakage of one of the yarns 7 causes the lever to pivot, the unbroken yarn to be freed and the member 10, which until then has been held in the position shown in Fig. 1, to pivot backwardly into contact with roller 2. In a further form (Fig. 4 not shown) each constituent yarn passes through a fixed guide on a single pivoted segment-like member and on breakage of one of the yarns the associated segment pivots and displaces the top roller associated with all the constituent yarns which are thus broken.
