986,376. Railway vehicle undercarriages. COMPAGNIE DES ATELIERS ET FORGES DE LA LOIRE ST CHAMAND. FIRMINY. ST ETIENNE. JACOB-HOLTZER. Dec. 29, 1961 [Jan. 16, 1961], No. 46697/61. Heading B7L. A railway bogie, Figs. 1 and 4, includes a frame 15 and a drawbar head 8 carrying a substantially vertical prop 9, the head 8 being coupled to the frame 15 by two sets of links 12, which converge downwardly to subtend an angle at S near rail level, and the upper end 19 of the prop 9 is slidably and rotatably resiliently coupled to the frame through the intermediary of a bolster 3 and extends through an aperture 11 having a rubber bush 20, the arrangement being such that a torque applied through the head 8 tending to transfer weight from the leading axle to the trailing axle is constructed by a torque applied to the frame through the end 19 of the prop. The bolster S at each end is carried on the frame 15 by longitudinally spaced pairs of rubber shear springs 6, and friction shoes 7 under the urge of coil springs 17, are placed between the rubber springs.' The vehicle body 1 is supported on the bolster 3 through tension swing links 2 and the bolster is also connected to the body by longitudinal control rods 4. The prop 9 is slidable in a guide 10 of the frame 15 through the intermediary of a slide member 18 and rubber bush 21. Pivoted at 23 to the bottom of the prop 9 is a rocker plate 25. The plate 25 is pivotally connected to pairs of drawbars 13 connected to depending parts 14 of the body 1 at 24 the connections being such that the drawbars can only operate in tension.
