985,758. Suction clearer and end catcher. CARRIER ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Aug. 11, 1961 [Oct. 21,1960], No. 36251/60. Headings DID and D1F. A textile spinning machine having adjacent the delivery rollers, suction nozzles 17 for catching dust, fluff and broken ends, each nozzle 17 is on the end of a tube 16 mounted in resilient tubing 18 such that the tube 16 is biased into contact with one end of a slot, e.g. formed in a bracket 12, during normal operation and may be moved from this position, e.g. to extract a broken end, by movement against the resiliency of the tubing 18. In the form shown, the bracket 12, which is mounted to be vertically adjustable on a bar 11, has an open ended vertical slot and the tube 16 is biased towards the closed, upper end of the slot. Alternatively the slot may be horizontally disposed or of inverted L -shaped configuration. The tube 16 is accurately located in the tube 18 by means of a collar 24 adjustably mounted on the tube 16 by a grub screw 24 while it is guided in the slot formed in bracket 12 by a square bush 21 mounted on the tube. The nozzle 17 and bush 21 may be integral, made of nylon and detachable from the tube 16.
