Abstract

1,110,604. Roller clearer. JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd. 20 May, 1965 [26 May, 1964], No. 21744/64. Heading DID. In a spinning frame having a suction nozzle 9 adjacent the yarn 3 emerging from drawing rollers 1, 2, a scraper blade 4 resiliently biassed into contact with roller 1 is provided to span each nozzle. Blade 4, preferably of brass, has parallel upper and lower roller contacting portions 5 and slides on a pair of horizontally spaced arms (6, 7), see Fig. 3 not shown, to be biassed by springs (12) against the roller. Arms (6, 7) are formed on a bracket 8 through which the nozzle 9 passes. Nozzle 9 is fixed in a flexible hose 29 joined to a suction duct 30 by a clamp 28 such that the nozzle is upwardly biassed in the slotted bracket 8 by the hose 29. A member 21 having an upper inclined surface 23 is mounted on nozzle 9 to engage the top of the slot, adjustment of member 21 causing adjustment in the vertical position of the mouth of nozzle 9. The nozzle may be adjusted along its length by being pushed into the hose 29.
