Abstract

1,190,839. Sliver guide. MAREMONT CORP, 27 Nov., 1967 '[30 Nov., l966], No. 53805/67. Heading D1N. A sliver conveying tube 30 is arranged between the last .pair of drafting rollers 14, 16 of a drawing frame and a .trumpet condenser 20 with the tube extending in a straight line 31 for a major portion of its length and then smoothly curving downwards towards the condenser 20, the straight portion 31 having a slotted opening 38 in its upper surface for facilitating piecing up of the sliver and the curved portion forming an enclosed passageway for the sliver. The exit end of the tube is supported within the condenser 20 by a cover plate 36 mounted on the tube. Between the rollers 14, 16 and the entry end of 'the tube a funnel shaped collector 40 is arranged in front of a depression plate 44. Both the condenser 20 and the tube and its associated collector 40 are pivotally mounted on frame 10. Plugging of aperture 42 causes bracket 50 to move out of contact with stop motion switch 54.
