Abstract

984,953. Nut runner. K. I. CHRISTENSSON. Nov. 15, 1963 [Nov. 23, 1962], No. 45158/63. Heading B3N. A nut runner comprises a pneumatic hammer 7 carrying an extension 6, and a spanner 1 having an arm 2 pinned to the extension by a pin 5. Arm 2 has radiused edges 3, 4 struck from the centre of pin 5, and the ends of the latter are carried in pistons 16, slidable in bores 14 in extension 6, against springs 17. Hammer 12 of the pneumatic hammer engages edge 4, to supply impacts to the spanner when slackening a nut 19, and the hammer is pivoted through 180 degrees to engage edge 3 to tighten the nut.
