Abstract

[Also in Division G4] A vacuum operated fluid control valve comprises a main valve member 8 operated by a single diaphragm 13 under the control of a pilot valve 2 which controls an atmospheric inlet to the diaphragm chamber 10, this chamber being connected to vacuum through an adjustable restriction 11 and connection 4. The pilot valve 2 is carried on a lightly balanced lever 1 which in a counting apparatus, e. g. used in the manufacture of sweets, is actuated by the individual sweets passing a roller 3. The main valve member 8 is movable between two seats 9, 14 to connect a fluid motor of the counting apparatus, through a connection 16, alternately to the vacuum connection 4 through seat 9 or to atmosphere through seat 14 and opening 17.
