Abstract
957,118. Valves. DECCA Ltd. Nov. 23, 1962 [Dec. 27, 1961], No. 46330/61. Heading F2V. A valve body 10 has a vacuum inlet which leads to an outlet 23 via a valve seat 15 and a chamber 14; the latter is defined by a diaphragm 12 on which is mounted a closure member 16 that is urged to the open position by an adjustable spring 25. A bleed orifice 30 is provided between the chamber 14 and atmosphere so that in use the member 16 will never completely seat. The member 16 is drawn towards its seat 15 when the vacuum in chamber 14 is sufficient to overcome the spring 25. The outlet may lead through one or more apertures in the diaphragm.
