Abstract

1510191 Valves SANDOZ Ltd 24 March 1975 [27 March 1974] 12253/75 Heading F2V A pressure responsive valve for a cannula assembly, comprises a housing having first and second ducts 226, 230 each having a respective end 234, 238 terminating in the housing, a first diaphragm 218 affixed within the housing and a second diaphragm 240 movable conjointly with the first diaphragm. In use, when atmospheric or other reference pressure acting on the outer surface of diaphragm 240 exceeds the pressure in the ducts, the diaphragm 218 is moved to seat against the terminations 234, 238 and thereby close the flow path. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the first diaphragm is connected via a stem (324) to a closure plate (342) co-operable with downwardly-facing duct terminations whereby, in use, the flow path is instead closed by the plate when the duet pressure exceeds the atsmopheric pressure.
