Abstract
982,690. Door stops; holders; latch fastenings. VEREINIGTE BAUBESCHLAG-FABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO. G.m.b.H. Aug. 13, 1962, No. 30896/62. Headings E2A and E2X. A door holder or fastening device comprises a resiliently floor-mounted abutment 17 with a catch 26, 26a hook-shaped in plan view which is engaged by the laterally movable bolt 45 fitted to the door 15, a stop 27 limiting the swing of the door. The base piece 12 is fixed in a square depression 11 in the floor and has a circular recess 13 in which is fitted an eccentric rubber ring 14 surrounding the central projection 18 screwed at 20 to thrust plate 19. A guide pin 21 passes in the direction of door motion, x, through members 12, 14 and 18. Relative rotation of abutment plate 19 and base piece 12 is prevented by pin 22 engaging in slot 23 parallel to pin 21. The bolt 45, spring-mounted in the locking device 32 comprising a back-plate 33 and casing 34, may be adjusted vertically with its holder 37 using screw means. As the door moves over the abutment 17 bolt 45 follows path S through channels 24, 28, pivoting laterally over camming surface 25 then snapping to position 45c behind catch 26 and then moving to stop 27. In the return motion the bolt partially retracts against its spring loading as it passes over inclined surface 30, so avoiding catch 26. An embodiment having optional use of stop 27 has an abutment plate which is rotatable to a position in which bolt 45 passes right over the plate through an extended form of channel 28. Means for locking the bolt in the stop position are given.
