Abstract

609,911. Door holders and stops; fastenings. DEANE, G. N. March 25, 1946, No. 9144. [Classes 44 and 65 (i)] A door holder and stop comprises a forked tumbler 3 which is pivoted at 13 on the undersurface of a door 2 and co-operates with a fixed stud 7 projecting from the floor. The tumbler is held in either of two positions by a leaf spring 6 acting on one or other of two flat surfaces 16 and 17 provided approximately at right angles to each other on the tumbler. A fixed abutment 5 prevents the tumbler being moved beyond its door-retaining position. In a modification the tumbler pivots on the floor while the stud projects from the door.
