Abstract

981,381. Valves. CISTERNS Ltd. Nov. 6, 1961 [Aug. 30, 1960], No. 29903/60. Heading F2V. A lever arm for a float valve comprises an arm 1 made of synthetic plastic having one or more reinforcing ribs, the arm being of H-shape or preferably T-shaped cross-section. One end of the arm is trifurcated, each trifurcation 2 having a hole to receive a pin 4 whereby the lever may be pivoted to a bifurcation on the valve body 5. The opposite end of the arm is provided with a hole to receive a stem 12 of a stud which is secured to the lever arm by a wing nut 13. The stud has a second threaded stem 14 on which the float is screwed. This arrangement allows rotation of the stud to position the float. The contacting surfaces of the stud and lever arm may be ribbed to provide interlocking surfaces which prevent rotation as the wing nut is tightened.
