Abstract
801,448. Valves. SAUNDERS VALVE CO., Ltd. Nov. 30, 1956 [Nov. 30, 1955], No. 34330/55. Class 135. An indicator for a valve having a wholly concealed or a non-rising spindle 2 comprises a flexible member 9, that is connected at end 8 to a part of the valve which moves with the closure member and passes through a guide hole 18, 19 in the spindle to extend above the valve hand wheel 1. As shown, the end 8 of the flexible rod is secured by a self-tapping screw 11 to the valve actuator bushing 13. The outer end 16 of the rod may be graduated and is provided with an indicator ball 17. The rod is conveniently made in plastic-covered, closelycoiled wire. If the hand wheel is secured by a pin 3 to the spindle the hole 18, 19 may be drilled from each end to avoid the pin.
