980,905. Fuel injectors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Aug. 28, 1963 [Sept. 7, 1962], No. 33984/63. Heading FIB. In a fuel injector having a needle valve 22 opening in the direction of fuel flow, the amount of opening being limited by an abutment 27 acting, through a sleeve 13, on the valve stem 16, a groove 26 is provided in the lower face of the valve head to permit fuel flow through the injection orifice 6 if the valve stem breaks and the valve head blocks the outlet. The valve when closed seats on seat 20, a cylindrical level 21 delaying flow of the fuel when the valve lifts off its seat.
