Abstract
977,376. Galvanizing tank furnaces. K. FRITZ. May 16, 1963 [March 8, 1963], No. 19434/63. Heading F4B. In a cover-heated tank furnace for galvanizing or aluminium plating, the tank 2 lined with refractory brick 1 is disposed on a concrete base 5 cooled by a series of pipes 6 extending therethrough between headers 7 and 7<SP>1</SP> and supplied with air or water. The pipes rise towards the outlet header 7<SP>1</SP> which has a grid 9 and the supply of coolant may be controlled by a thermostat 11 extending to the centre of the base 5. The pipes are spaced apart by substantially <SP>3</SP>/ 5 -3 times the internal bore and are located from the top of the base by substantially ¢-1 times the internal bore.
