Apparatus for curing asbestos-cement articles, e.g. pipes T, comprises an endless roller conveyer 2 in a tunnel 1 having longitudinal channels 4, 5 flush with the tunnel bottom and covered by spaced plates to provide ports 7 spaced along the length of the tunnel for circulation of air moistened by water sprinklers 21 and heated by fluid-heated pipes in a battery 18 mounted in a chamber 8 connected to one end of the channels 4, 5. The air from the tunnel 1 is withdrawn for conditioning by a fan 16 through either channel 4 or 5 as dictated by flap valves (not shown) actuated by fluidpressure cylinders 14, 15 and mounted in the wall of a channel 13 common to both channels which is interposed between the channels and the chamber 8 so that conditioned air may pass to the open end of the other channel, e.g. channel 5, as shown. The sprinkler and heated pipes are fed with hot water from a boiler 19, and the channels 4, 5 increase in cross-sectional area and have their bottoms sloping downwardly towards the chamber 8 to drain condensation water.
