Abstract

976,272. Landing-stages. G. HUMPHRIS. Feb. 27, 1964 [Feb. 28, 1963], No. 7970/63. Heading E1H. A landing stage for mooring a boat is hinged at one end to a fixed structure e.g. a harbour wall 1, or a pontoon and carries at its opposite end a buoyant chamber 8 and guide rails 9 which engage both sides of a pile 6 so that the floating end can move up and down but resists twisting. The landing stage may be provided with a mooring ring 10 adjacent the floating end. Fig. 1 (not shown) illustrates a number of parallel landing stages secured to a harbour wall and a further series of parallel landing stages extending in opposite directions from a pontoon arranged perpendicular to the harbour wall.
