Abstract

976,261. Photographic silver halide materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. July 26, 1962 [Aug. 1, 1961], No. 28746/62. Heading G2C. Photographic silver halide material developable by uniform exposure to light contains a mercapto compound and a salt of copper. The salt may be cupric sulphate, copper acetate or copper nitrate. Compounds specified are o-mercapto benzoic acid, oxazoline-2-thiol, 5-acetamido-2-mercapto-thiazole, 2-mercapto-4-phenyl-thiazole, 2- mercaptobenzoxazole, 1-methyl-2-mercapto-imidazole, 1-isoamyl-2-mercapto-imidazole, 2-mercaptobenzimidazole, 5-amino-2-mercapto-1, 3,4- thiadiazole and its acetyl derivative, 3-mercapto- 1, 2, 4-triazole and its 5-methyl derivative, 1- phenyl-, 1-m-carboxyphenyl-and 1-(3-methylsulphonamide-phenyl)-5-mercaptotetrazole, 4, 5- diamino-2-mercapto-pyrimidine, 1, 4-bis(2 mercaptoethyl) piperazine, 5-p-chlorophenyl-2-mercapto-1, 3, 4, (4H)-thiadiazine, 5, 6-dimethyl-3-mercapto-1, 2, 4-triazabenzene, 4-mercapto-1, 2, 3, - -triazanaphthalene, 2, 4-dimercapto-6-phenyl-dihydro-s-triazine, 3-mercapto-1, 2, 3a-triazaindene, 4-mercapto- 6-methy-1, 3, 3a, 7-tetrazaindene, 6-hydroxy 3-mercapto-5-methyl- 1, 2, 3a, 4, 7-pentazaindene and 7-methyl-6-thiopurine.
