973,836. Stoppers. METALLKAPSELFABRIK LOOS & CO. G.m.b.H. May 1, 1962 [May 19, 1961], No. 16609/62. Addition to 897,810. Heading B8T. A bottle cap of the kind described in the parent Specification and formed from a foil blank to the wall of which a tear strip is attached, is characterized in that the strip when attached to the blank, has at least one curved part so that on application to a tapering bottle neck, the strip lies substantially in a plane perpendicular to the bottle axis. The foil blank of Fig. 2 has a curved strip 26 which may be of plastics thread with its one end 25 providing a pull tab; perforations 28 may be located above or below the strip and a recess 27 is provided. A finished cap may be as shown in Fig. 1. In the case of a tape-like strip, Fig. 4, one or more curves 43 may be located along its length adjacent cut-away areas, so that the strip can approximate to an imaginary curve 44 which will lie in the said plane when the cap is formed.
