Abstract

971,040. Tenter clip assemblies. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. Jan. 29, 1963 [Feb. 1, 1962], No. 3690/63. Heading D1S. A tenter clip assembly comprises a substantially flat support member 2 having at one end an integral thickened wear block 15 adapted for sliding engagement with the inner rail of a track of a tenter frame and having extending from the other end an integral lug 8 adapted for sliding engagement with the outer rail of such track, means for mounting the support member on the, conveyer chain 3 of a tenter frame and a tenter clip 1 removably mounted on the support member and adapted to grip the edge of a web material. Fig. 1 shows an exploded view of such an assembly. The member 2 is fixed to chain 3 by pins 11 and lock plate 4, the latter engaging channels 22 in pins 11, and the clip 1 and plate 4 are secured to the member 2 by screws 5. The member 2 is made of a material especially suited for frictional wear e.g. ductile cast iron.
