1,179,607. Glazing. METAUX LEGERS & METAUX NON-FERREUX S.A. 16 June, 1967 [4 Nov., 1966], No. 27942/67. Heading E1R. A glazing bar and glazing strip assembly comprises an extruded metal glazing bar or frame member 10 provided with opposing lateral grooves 18, 29 and a plate 24 of resilient plastics material which has a recess or recesses 26 on one or both opposite sides to provide flanges 29 and carries a part such as the undercut rib 28 or button which cooperates with the hook end 34 of a flange or flanges 32 on the glazing strip 30 to provide a clipping connection between the strip 30 and mounting plate 24, this latter being capable of engaging the grooves 18, 20 on rotation (by a suitable tool Fig. 5) in its own plane and held in position by the resiliency of the flanges 29 against the webs of the grooves. Alternatively the recesses and flanges of the plate 24 may be omitted, the plate 62, Fig. 4 being sufficiently flexible to be bent and its edges sprung into the grooves 18, 20. Instead of ribs 28 buttons on the plate 24 with an undercut peripheral groove may be used for cooperation with two parallel legs on the glazing strip 30.
